hein maij Director
Hein Maij has 25 years’ experience at the South African Revenue Service (SARS) as a qualified Master tax auditor. He is currently the owner and director of a tax consulting business FinDomicile, that specialises in financial emigration for SA expats as well as local tax compliance and dispute resolution. He has been in private practise since September 2015.
During his time at SARS he was a senior auditor and was responsible for the transfer of skills to junior auditors. He assisted SARS in developing Standard Operating Procedures as well as electronic working papers for the SARS Audit division countrywide.
He was a technical specialist in the audit department where he was responsible in reviewing audit files. He multi skilled in the sense that it was expected of him to audit various tax types i.e. Income Tax, Payroll and Value Added tax for Individuals as well as Corporates. His years of experience at SARS gave him insight on how to resolve complex tax disputes.

johan vermeulen DIRECTOR
With 18-years of professional experience, over a decade of which at Executive Management Level; Johan Vermeulen is a seasoned tax, finance and business professional, with expertise in serving both private and corporate clients.
After completing his articles at Price Waterhouse Coopers in 2005 he joined Coris Capital (now Sanlam) as a Senior Financial Accountant, thereafter being promoted to Fund Accounting Manager. In order to build exposure and meet new challenges, Johan joined Moore Stephens Cape Town in 2010 and was promoted to partner in 2013. Johan’s responsibilities included new business development, business advisory, assurance engagements, tax and tax advisory engagements to both corporates and individuals, including tax consequences on corporate restructures, mergers and acquisitions, and BEE transactions. Johan also acted as an independent trustee on various trusts.
After a brief stint in commerce, from July 2017 to beginning of 2020, Johan returned to private practice trading as Southern Cross Audit, Accounting, Tax and Advisory.

annemarie joubert DIRECTOR
Annemarie Joubert is a director and founder of Potgieter Joubert Inc, a law firm established in 2017 after she spent almost 12 years at the top end of commercial legal services at two of the large commercial law firms in South Africa.
She obtained a BAccLLB degree from the University of Stellenbosch where after she did articles of clerkship at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr and was appointed as an associate. In 2008 she joined the Commercial Dispute Resolution Department at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs as an associate and was later promoted to Senior Associate and thereafter Principal Associate.
She has advised numerous small, medium and large, local and international, corporations as well as individuals, on an array of commercial, personal and fiduciary related matters, including matters relating to corporate structures, corporate governance, shareholders’ and directors’ disputes, trusts, financial services, and insurance.
She was one of the first to obtain a BAccLLB degree from the University of Stellenbosch, and the accounting knowledge gained from her studies coupled with her commercial law experience, provides a unique skill set and understanding of the interplay between law, accounting and tax.
